ATS&R Selected by Chippewa Falls Unified Area School District

Minneapolis, MN – August 20, 2014 –  ATS&R was selected by the Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District in Wisconsin to provide leadership in the development of their long-range facilities master plan. ATS&R will provide a comprehensive assessment that will be used to guide the District’s future facilities investments while enhancing their academic mission and supporting program changes.

ATS&R’s Dean Beeninga will serve as the educational facilities planner, with Kara Rise serving as the team’s 21st century educational and referendum specialist and Dr. Tom Tapper providing educational adequacy planning and committee/group facilitation.

ATS&R Partner Dean Beeninga states, “We believe that school buildings are the physical expression and shape of a community’s vision for educating its children. We will thoughtfully explore the District’s key issues to make sure their facilities enhance and inspire teaching and learning, now and in the future. A successful plan begins with collaborative planning/design visioning where educators, citizen groups, community and district representatives have the opportunity to share and learn how the facilities can best serve the overall needs of the community. ”

Marshall Public Schools Selects ATS&R

Minneapolis, MN – July 17, 2014  Marshall Public Schools in Minnesota recently selected ATS&R Planners/Architects/Engineers to assist the District in preparing a Comprehensive Long-Range Facilities Plan that identifies five, ten and fifteen year recommendations for new construction, expansion, renovation and/or other options for buildings and properties that support their educational vision.

Working on the plan, the ATS&R team will focus on several key elements including increasing student engagement, transforming learning environments, supporting early innovators, personalizing student learning and professional growth/development, enhancing communications, and collaborating with all stakeholders to make decisions. ATS&R feels passionate about these key elements and continues to research, refine, and incorporate 21st century educational approaches and delivery systems into our planning and design of educational facilities.

ATS&R Welcomes Parkos as Co-Director of Mechanical Engineering

Minneapolis, MN – June 5, 2014 ATS&R welcomes Blayne Parkos, PE/LEED AP BD+C as Co-Director of Mechanical Engineering. As Co-Director of Mechanical Engineering, Parkos will provide oversight, review and leadership to ATS&R’s mechanical engineering team. He will also serve as senior mechanical engineer on several design projects.

Parkos comes to ATS&R with 15 years of mechanical engineering experience. He graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He is a registered engineer in Minnesota and a LEEDTMAP BD+C. Parkos is an active member of ASHRAE, American Society of Healthcare Engineers (ASHE) and American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).
